Thankful.

She is thankful.

Not necessarily for her struggles, but for her tenacity to keep going.

Not for the tears she sheds, but for someone to be there to comfort her.

Not for her reoccuring thoughts and obsessions, but knowing they are only temporary.

And not for her nightmares that could scare a murderer, but for her starting to understand they are dreams.

She is thankful for making it through another year of Hell. Of course, she’s still scared and tired and sad.
But she is so damn thankful for having the help she has; the friends (she now knows who are true), her family, and her daughter who makes her smile and laugh throughout the day.
